Hang Something Above It

Solve the Everyday Clutter Problem Deliberately
If the table sits near an entryway, it's going to attract keys and mail whether you plan for it or not. A small tray or bowl contains this daily clutter in one spot rather than letting it spread across the whole surface, keeping the styled look intact even on a busy weekday.
Consider What's Underneath, Not Just On Top
A console table with an open shelf or drawer offers a place for everyday items (remotes, chargers, spare linen) to disappear out of sight, which takes pressure off the top surface needing to look perfect all the time. If storage isn't built in, a woven basket underneath serves the same purpose.
